Set up a puppy zone the resident dogs cannot raid
Crate, x-pen, and a closed door beat 'they will work it out.' Resident dogs need a place the puppy cannot steal toys from.
Introductions · arrival day
First meeting on neutral ground
Parallel walk, loose leashes, then a sniff if both bodies stay soft. Not a doorway ambush.
Introductions · day 3
Week one — managed house, separate rest
Together when you are watching. Apart when you are not. Sleep is not a group project yet.
One pack · day 14
Add shared downtime if greetings stay loose
If week one was boring in a good way, let them share a room while you are home. Keep a baby gate in the kit.
